The Munual: The Manual for MUNers
Who are we?
We are a group of students composed of MUN enthusiasts who care about our society and wish to contribute to the MUN community in Taiwan by sharing the knowledge we have attained through our diverse MUN experiences.
Our Mission & Goal: Why did we create The Munual?
Model United Nations (MUN) was created based on the idea that students of the next generation, through MUN, have the ability to change this world. Recognising this, we wanted to promote MUN as something far more than a mere competition or social event; rather, as a place where students recognises the importance of themselves in this interconnected global community and their responsibilities they have in the society. While having fun, we wanted you to learn from the conference, and further implement those lessons in your everyday lives. For that, the Munual was created.
While attending MUN conferences, we have seen many great delegates, so we, MUN fanatics, have decided to create a website in order to assist you–regardless of gender, age, or school– in your journey towards become the best.
We love MUN very much, and while attending different conferences around Taiwan, we notice that in all of the awesome conferences we had been to, there is still something missing here and there that could make the already-great conference better. So, in addition to the website, we are moving on to designing sustainable training programs that can assist any school in their development of MUN. It would be applicable to any and all schools, regardless of resources or experience. Our goal for this is to assist schools in creating the perfect environment for all MUNers to enjoy, learn, and have fun in.
We also wanted to share the experiences and knowledge obtained from participating in MUN, particularly international mindedness, with everyone else who had little to no access to these insights, so they can further contribute to the global community in the future. We share these experiences mainly in the blog section.
Last Words …
MUN is our passion, and we believe it is yours too. That is why you can also contribute to our cause and the Taiwan MUN community by helping us promote and update this website with more precise information. If you have some experiences you wanted to share, you can do so via the blog section; just sent us your articles and it can be published. Let us work together for this cause.
“In MUN, we explore, we confer, we inspire, and we mature.”
Meet the people behind The Munual.
認識 The Munual 的幕後人物!
Steven is currently a senior at Kang Chiao International School in Taipei, and is the vice-president of The Munual 2016-2017. Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, where he has lived for 11 years, Steven was introduced to MUN in grade 9, and has been involved in conferences in Canada, Taiwan, and the US. He thinks MUN is a great way to enhance a student’s public speaking and oratory skills, take a role in solving critical global problems, work diplomatically with others, and of course, meet numerous awesome friends (as Steven has done). Outside of MUN, he previously captained his school’s junior badminton team, has been an active member of student council in both his previous high school and Kang Chiao, and occasionally writes articles for the school newspaper. In his free time, he enjoys activities such as reading, watching Netflix, and of course, playing badminton.

He is a participant of many conferences such as Global Initiatives Symposium in Taiwan, he is also an active MUNer. He is also a founder of a local startup company. TIMMY CHANG 張樂凡
Timmy is a junior at Dominican International School. As a vivid MUNer who loves international affairs, he has participated in numerous conferences since his freshman year and is currently the executive of his school’s Model UN club. He believes that through Model UN, he not only could improve his debating skills but extend his social circle to infinity! Besides debating on hot global issues, he enjoys eating Haagen Dazs no matter whether he’s studying or watching BBC dramas. Anyhow, he hopes to contribute much through The Munual in order to spread MUN’s joy to more people around the country!
Audrey is currently a junior at International Bilingual School at Tainan Science Park. She has been participating in Model UN conferences for the past three and a half years and is also the current club president of her school’s MUN club. Besides from Model UN, she also does debate, World Scholar’s Cup, and forensic tournaments. If it is not for school and extracurricular activities, she would like to sleep and eat all day. You can definitely find her either curled up in her bed or chucking down food at a café during her free time.
SIDNEY TSAI 蔡心榆
Sidney Tsai is a 9th grader at New Taipei City’s Ginling Girls’ High School. She is currently the Officer of Public Affairs and Activities at her school’s Model UN club, and has been attending conferences since she was in the 7th grade. She was born in the USA (GEORGIA STATE REPRESENT!), but moved to Indonesia 5 years ago for 4 months, and to Taiwan after that. She can be considered a pretty open-minded and liberal person – you could tell her that you believe in unicorns that fart rainbows and prance on piles of gold, but she’d still be willing to listen to your theory (actually, it’s because she’s a weirdo herself). She’s determined to work her hardest to provide the best content for all The Munual followers, and looks forward to the upcoming projects!
